6 Tips To Keep Clients Paying
Having a successful personal training business is about marketing effectively, selling a prospect, and keeping them as a client long term.
Let's take a closer look at the economics of a personal trainer. Doesn't it cost more time, and money to locate a new fitness training client compared to working with an existing customer? Yes, there is a cost involved. Therefore, once they have sold themselves on your personal trainer business, then it is beneficial financially to keep them coming back for more.
There are 6 useful things you can do to keep clients paying forever. Closely follow the 6 tips listed below, and enjoy watching your personal trainer income soar.
1. Treat each, and every personal training business client like they are your absolute best, and favorite customer.
No matter how you really feel about your client, make them feel special. Doing so will pave the road towards success as a personal fitness trainer. Give it a try.
2. Give your undivided attention during the workout to each, and every client
While training you should be laser focused on your clients needs. Looking around, answering cell phones, and talking to others is not recommended. Stay in the present, and show them value for their investment in your fitness expertise. Paying close attention will certainly increase perceived value, and generate a higher personal training income.
3. Practice listening more than speaking.
As a fitness professional you should be listening 85% of the time compared to talking 15%. Personal training business clients like to be heard, understood, and supported during their workout sessions.
As a fitness trainer strive to listen more than you speak. Your clients will most certainly feel special.
4. Strive to make the clients exercise session the best part of their entire day.
Successful personal trainers make training sessions fun. Your goal should be to thrill your client. After they finish a workout they should be fulfilled. A satisfied, happy client always comes back for more.
5. Understand that the personal training business session is about the client, and not about you.
Too many fitness professionals do not take into account what a paying client really desires. The workout session is about them, and what they want, and need. It is not about your. Listen closely to exactly what they want, and make them feel super special.
6. Be their go to trusted fitness advisor.
You are the workout coach, and a part of your clients team. Show them how much you genuinely care. A lot of times it is not about what you know, but how much you really care. You want your paying customer to know you are on their side, and leading them towards fulfilling their goals. You are on their winning team.
In order to wow your personal training business clients make sure you develop a mindset of the 6 tips mentioned above. Doing so will get good paying clients coming back for more.

These are some really good tips. I want to add: make sure you are challenging your client, not injuring them. When I see a trainer make a 350lb woman do 4 sets of lunges I know that client won't be coming around long.
Another tip is to have a point system or some kind of reward system set up so that at certain points your clients earn a trinket...doesn't have to be an expensive one, but they will feel proud they earned it.
With clients that have serious fitness goals or a whole lot of weight to lose I give them a Classic Countdown Calendar. We take a picture at 100 days to go, 50 days to go and 0. They are usually amazed at the change in their bodies and want to keep going.
Good Luck!
